Ants can exploit tiny openings around loosely folded packages.
After opening suitable dry sweet foods, tightly reseal them or transfer them to clean food-grade containers with secure lids.
Wipe sugary residue from the outside before storing them.
This doesn't eliminate an existing ant infestation, but it removes an easily accessible food source.
In warm climates where ants can remain active for much of the year, prevention around food storage matters.
