Height & Weight Trivia Challenge!
Think you know all about height and weight? Try these fun facts and see which one surprises you most!- You may be a little taller in the morning. While you sleep, your spine gets a break from carrying your body’s weight. During the day, gravity gently compresses it, so some people are slightly shorter by bedtime.
- Astronauts can grow taller in space—temporarily! In weightlessness, astronauts’ spines stretch out. NASA says their height can increase by about 3% during the first few days in space, but it returns to normal after they come back to Earth.
- Your weight can naturally change from day to day. Water in your body, food, and normal body processes can make the scale move a little, even when nothing is wrong. That is why one number on a scale does not tell the whole story.
- The tallest person ever recorded was Robert Wadlow. He was 2.72 metres tall—about 8 feet 11 inches! That is taller than many doorways.
- Height and weight are not “good” or “bad” scores. People grow in different ways and come in many healthy shapes and sizes. These measurements are mainly useful for checking growth over time and helping doctors understand a person’s health.
