On many phones and apps, holding a link can show a preview or reveal more information about its destination before you visit it.
This can help identify links whose displayed text doesn't match the website they actually open.
It's especially useful for unexpected “account warning,” “free reward,” delivery, or verification messages.
When something looks suspicious, opening the official app separately is still safer than following the message's link.
