Removing a post can take it off your profile, but someone may already have saved, downloaded, forwarded, quoted, or screenshotted it.

Copies can therefore continue circulating outside the original account's control.

This is particularly important with public posts and content shared in large groups.

Deleting something changes its availability at the original source, but it can't automatically retrieve copies other people already possess.
