A forecast showing a 60% chance of rain doesn't mean rain is expected for 60% of the day.

Probability of precipitation describes the likelihood of measurable precipitation occurring at a particular forecast location during the stated period.

It also doesn't directly tell you how heavy the rain will be or exactly how long it will last.

A high percentage can still result in a short ******, while a lower probability doesn't guarantee a completely dry day.
