Master Transformers, Prompt Engineering, RAG, NVIDIA NeMo & NIM - exam-focused prep for NCA-GENL
What you'll learn
Explain transformer architecture, attention, tokenisation and how LLMs generate text
Apply prompt engineering: zero-shot, few-shot, chain-of-thought and structured output
Evaluate generative models and design experiments with the right metrics
Build LLM applications with RAG, Hugging Face and LangChain, plus NVIDIA NeMo, NIM and TritonRequirements
Some Python and basic machine-learning familiarity; no GPU or NVIDIA hardware requiredDescription
This course contains the use of artificial intelligence.
Prepare for the NVIDIA-Certified Associate: Generative AI and LLMs (NCA-GENL) exam with a course that covers every official topic area, taught from the ground up for developers and data scientists entering generative AI. NCA-GENL is one of the most accessible AI credentials available - 50 questions in 60 minutes, no formal prerequisites - and this course is built to get you through it with real understanding rather than memorisation.
You will learn how machine learning and neural networks actually work, then go deep on the transformer architecture: self-attention, tokenisation, positional encoding, and how autoregressive models generate text. From there the course is hands-on with the skills the exam tests - prompt engineering from zero-shot to chain-of-thought, alignment and safety including RLHF and guardrails, data preprocessing and analysis, experiment design and evaluation metrics for generative models, and building LLM applications with RAG, Hugging Face Transformers and LangChain.
Because this is an NVIDIA credential, the course gives genuine coverage to the NVIDIA software stack most generic LLM courses skip: NeMo for building and customising models, NIM microservices, Triton Inference Server, TensorRT-LLM and GPU-accelerated inference concepts. No GPU or NVIDIA hardware is required to follow along - labs are runnable in an ordinary notebook or explained conceptually.
Taught by Aseem Mankotia (TechNuggets Academy). Every chapter includes exam callouts, common traps, and practice questions matching the exam style. Two full-length practice tests with 88 questions and detailed explanations are included, plus a complete exam simulation walkthrough with 60-minute time-management strategy in the final chapter.
