💡 Trivia Google will remove a useful feature from Gmail.

Google announced it will discontinue support for the "Send As" feature in Gmail for third-party email addresses. This means users will no longer be able to send emails from third-party services through the search giant's client.

The change will take effect in January 2027 and, according to the company, will affect both the Gmail web version and the mobile app. It also eliminates the ability to receive email through Gmailify and web sync via POP. Accessing third-party email will now require a dedicated email client or desktop app.

Google cites "disproportionately high maintenance costs" as the reason for removing the feature on its support page. While users will still be able to check email from third-party email accounts, sending emails will be prohibited..
