Many airports use trained falcons and other birds of prey to keep runways safe. These birds naturally scare away flocks of smaller birds that could collide with aircraft engines. Unlike loud noises or robotic devices, falcons create a natural predator threat that birds quickly recognize.

This method reduces the risk of dangerous bird strikes during takeoff and landing. Airports in countries including the UK, Canada, and the Netherlands have successfully used this technique. Sometimes the best aviation technology has feathers.
