The number you see beside your battery icon isn't an exact measurement. Your phone estimates the remaining battery based on voltage, usage, temperature, and other factors.

This is why the percentage can sometimes drop quickly during gaming or video recording, then slow down later. Cold or hot temperatures can also affect the estimate. The battery indicator is designed to be helpful, but it isn't perfectly precise. That tiny number is smarter—and more complicated—than it looks.
