Opening a private or incognito browser window does not hide your activity from your internet provider, employer, school, or the websites you visit. It mainly prevents your browser from saving your history, cookies, and search data on your own device after the session ends. It's useful when using a shared computer or signing into multiple accounts.
However, it is not designed as a privacy shield against online tracking. Many people misunderstand what incognito mode actually does. It's private from your device—not from the internet.
