Many people believe brown eggs are healthier than white eggs, but that's a common myth. The shell color depends on the breed of the chicken, not the quality of the egg. Brown and white eggs have nearly identical nutritional value, taste, and cooking performance when the hens are raised under similar conditions.

Factors such as the hen's diet and living environment have a much greater impact on egg quality than shell color. Choosing between brown and white eggs is mostly a matter of personal preference.
