Earth is surrounded by an invisible magnetic field called the magnetosphere. It acts like a giant shield, protecting our planet from harmful charged particles released by the Sun. Without this protective barrier, solar radiation could damage satellites, disrupt technology, and make life much more difficult.
The magnetosphere also creates the beautiful northern and southern lights when solar particles interact with Earth's atmosphere. Scientists constantly monitor it because powerful solar storms can temporarily disturb this natural shield.
