Butterflies have taste sensors on their feet that help them identify suitable plants. When a butterfly lands on a leaf or flower, it can detect chemical signals to determine if the plant is a good place to lay eggs or find food. Their long, tube-like mouthparts called a proboscis allow them to drink nectar from flowers.

Butterflies also play an important role as pollinators in many ecosystems. Their colorful wings are not only for beauty but also help with communication, camouflage, and protection from predators. There are thousands of butterfly species found around the world.
