After dropping a camera into the main crater of the Kavachi volcano located in the Solomon Islands, scientists found footage of sharks living in the underwater crater. The team left the camera underwater for an hour, and when they brought it back up to watch what was recorded, the footage showed images of silk sharks, hammerhead sharks, jellyfish, snappers, and a stingray.
The scientists aren't sure what happens to the sharks when the volcano is actively erupting, but believe that they are able to sense imminent eruptions and temporarily leave the crater.
