Tiniyak ng Estados Unidos na hindi nito pababayaan ang mga kaalyado sa Southeast Asia sa kabila ng mga hamon sa Gitnang Silangan.
Sa pulong ng Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) foreign ministers, nangako si US Secretary of State Marco Rubio na magpapatuloy ang pamumuhunan ng Amerika sa rehiyon, kabilang ang Pilipinas.
