A content creator Alicia Lipata, also known as Mima Alicia, had already received death threats before her killing, according to the ongoing investigation of the Philippine National Police.
According to PNP Public Information Chief PCol. Allen Rae Co, they already identified the two suspects involved in slaying the victim.
He also mentioned that the suspects might be syndicate members or hired to kill Alicia.
“Most probably, ito po ay miyembro ng sintikato or inupahan ng isang sindikato para po ipapaslang or ipapatay (ang vlogger),” Co said
The PNP PIO chief mentioned that they are currently profiling the background of the two suspects and noted that one of them already has multiple prior charges. While the motive behind the crime remains unclear, the PNP is looking into all possible angles.
Authorities are also working to discover the mastermind behind the killing, according to PNP Chief PGen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr.
“We have to identify all, including the mastermind,” he said
According to PCol. Allen Rae Co, the PNP is currently analyzing the statements from the vlogger, her family, the origin and frequency of threats, and other related information that may be helpful to the investigation.
