A dog named Eclipse was waiting at a Seattle bus stop with her owner. He stopped to finish a cigàrétté. The bus arrived. She got on without him.
She rode three stops on the D Line, got off at the dog park, and played until he caught up.
Then she did it again the next day. And the next. For seven years.
She had her own ORCA transit card clipped to her collar. Every driver on the route knew her. She would sit in a window seat, watch for her stop, and hop off at the park.
A cigárètté break created Seattle's most famous commuter.
