The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) recommended on July 13, 2026, the filing of charges against twelve individuals before the Department of Justice (DOJ).
Agents from the NBI Homicide Division arrived at the DOJ, carrying boxes of documents detailing their investigation into the drowning of Ateneo Blue Eagles Men’s basketball players Rene Baterbonia and Divine Adili.
Among those facing two counts of reckless imprudence resulting in homicide are former head coach Thomas Anthony “Tab” Baldwin, six assistant coaches, and one physical therapist.
Four individuals who face complaints of simple negligence resulting in homicide are the three resort owners and one athletic director.
The UNTV is looking forward to the official statement to be released by the DOJ regarding the recommendations of the NBI related to the drowning case
