Jennelyn Badoria, mother of a deceased student, Joyancee “Yancy” Separa, in the Tacloban school shooting, agrees with the appeal to lower the age of criminal liability following the tragic incident.
“Gusto ko lang sabihin na kung pwede pababaan yung edad na pwedeng makasuhan,” she said
It is also unfavorable for Badoria that the gunman will only be brought to Bahay Pag-asa because the suspect is a minor.
“Sabi nung nakabaril sa anak ko, wala daw crime liability. So paano yan? Isaaano lang yan sa Bahay pag-asa? Pwede naman siguro. I agree yung sinabi ni Tulfo. I agree po yung sinabi niya pwede naman siyang makulong doon sa ibang pasilidad na pwede sa kanilang edad para nila maramdaman yung sakit, yung parusa (na) nakarapatdapat sa kanila,” she said
For Badoria, it is just right to place the minor offenders in a separate facility, so they can also feel the weight of punishment that can be imposed on them in exchange for the killing of three students at San Jose National High School.
“Eh 'yung bata na yan nakamatay yan eh, nakamatay yan ng tao. So ano, ibabahay pag-asa lang yun?” she said
“So dapat may pasilidad na karapat-dapat sa kanila, maramdaman din nila yung sakit. Dapat mayroong pasilidad nakarapat-dapat sa kanila hindi lang yung bahay pag-asa na yan,” she added
Senator Risa Hontiveros E×ρréššed her condolences to Badoria and stated that they will thoroughly study the suggestion regarding the incident.
“Kasabay nung pakikiramay namin, nakikinig talaga kami sa inyo at lahat nung mga sinasabi niyo, pati yung mga suhestyon niyo ay matinding pag-aaralan po namin nitong aming Senate Committee on Women at pati ng ibang mga committee dito sa Senado,” she said to Badoria
