Log in or register now. has yet to confirm or deny the dating rumors with basketball player Chad Gammad — who is 16 years her junior — she said there’s nothing wrong with getting into a relationship with someone younger, especially when they get along well.
The 34-year-old David was rumored to be in a relationship with the 18-year-old Gammad after netizens pointed out that she had been going out with a mystery man who resembled the Letran Knights point guard.
Amid the speculations, the courtside reporter soft-launched her romance with the same mystery man on Facebook on Friday, May 22. This prompted netizens to reiterate in the comments that she is dating the basketball player, while others said they will unfollow her on social media.
David was seemingly unfazed by the criticism, addressing critics who called her out for not dating someone her age in a TikTok live. However, she didn’t address her rumored romance with Gammad.
Her responses to bashers were reuploaded on X (formerly Twitter).
“Hindi talaga nila nage-gets no? Sa buhay ba natin, lagi tayong nakakapili? Paano ‘yung mga dumating bigla na sitwasyon and you just can’t explain it? I cannot explain it. I guess kahit anong ingay niyo or [kahit] iparating niyo sa ibang universe ‘tong issue, kahit ano pang bashing ang abutin niyan, kayo lang ang nase-stress,” she said.
(They don’t get it, do they? Do we choose whom we fall in love with in life? What if someone suddenly arrives in your life and you just can’t explain it? I cannot explain it. Even though you call me out or bring this issue to a different universe, you’re the only one stressed by it.)
The courtside responded to comments calling her out for “dating an 18-year-old” without mentioning Gammad’s name.
She also pointed out that just because some 18-year-olds’ brains aren’t fully developed doesn’t mean that they’re not allowed to fall in love.
“Masama bang bigyan ng chance? Nag-click eh. Anong gagawin ko?” she said. “So ‘yung mga 18 years old (sic) bawal mag-girlfriend and boyfriend kasi hindi pa fully developed (ang frontal lobe)? Or nagkataon lang kasi na mas matanda ako kaya issue. Ano bang point dito?”
(Is it bad to give him a chance? We clicked. What can I do about it? So, 18-year-olds are not allowed to have a girlfriend or boyfriend because their frontal lobes are not fully developed? Or it just so happens that I’m older, that’s why it became an issue. What’s the point?)
Gammad has yet to address the allegations and ongoing criticism, as of this writing. /mcm
