I've been exploring Sprout (playsprout.org) recently, and I wanted to share my thoughts for those who may have come across it but haven't taken the plunge yet.
For context, Sprout is a Solana-based idle game where you grow virtual trees, earn LEAF tokens daily, and — this is the part that genuinely stood out to me — a portion of every SOL purchase goes toward funding real-world tree planting through One Tree Planted, with on-chain proof published weekly. It's a surprisingly transparent setup for a crypto game.
A few things worth noting:
• LEAF-Pay lets you buy trees using LEAF tokens at the same price as SOL, with no withdrawal fees and no protocol fee — 100% goes back to you.
• The freeze authority on LEAF has been permanently revoked, which is a meaningful transparency signal.
• The in-game economy is closed-loop: LEAF spent on trees feeds back into the yield pool, which benefits all participants over time.
• Phase 2 is currently live.
