❓ Help AI tools or apps for Research

For research, you only need good search engines and a little bit of AI with freely available tools. And the rest is on you.

Follow this guide and modify according to your needs:
Phase 1: Exploration & Fact-Finding
Tool:
Perplexity Search (via Comet Browser)
  • Why: It acts as a real-time search engine with citations.
  • Action: Use it to find current events, specific data points, or "the state of" a topic.
  • Benefit: Provides clickable links to verify facts instantly.
Note: Use Chrome "AI mode" as a secondary research tool.
Phase 2: Deep Analysis & Long-Form Reading
Tool:
Google AI Studio / Gemini Playground (via Chrome)
  • Why: Offers a large "context window" at no cost.
  • Action: Upload long PDFs, textbooks, or large datasets.
  • Benefit: Allows complex questioning of extensive material without loss of context.

Phase 3: Visuals & Ecosystem Integration
Tool:
Microsoft Copilot (via Edge)
  • Why: Provides free image generation (DALL-E 3) and web-to-doc features.
  • Action: Create diagrams or summarize specific open web pages in the sidebar.
  • Benefit: Easily exports findings directly into free web versions of Word or PowerPoint.
Note: Use Gemini Playground to generate images if needed using Nano Banana

The "Zero-Cost" Method
  1. Search (Perplexity): Obtain facts and links.
  2. Analyze (AI Studio): Use AI Studio for in-depth analysis of links or documents.
  3. Draft (Gemini): Use standard Gemini in Chrome to structure notes into an outline.
  4. Refine & Design (Copilot): Use Copilot to generate images and review the tone.
Initially, you need to specify the subject matter and the final output type in order for you and the AI to analyze, review, edit, and synchronize all data to form your final report.
You only need one account to do this.

Note: Microsoft Office is your final tool to finish your work.

Last: Always verify your sources and use citations to protect academic integrity. Use AI as
tutor, not as ghostwriters. Rewrite in your own words, save everything manually, and read out loud everything before submission. This will help you understand your report as well as tell you if you still need to polish it. And be sure to know the limits of your AI's free tier to avoid interruptions.

Good Luck.

Kung sanay ka sa ᑕᕼᗩTGᑭT na merong samut-saring built-in apps, the free tier will do for the extra work like RAG or document analysis. Emails lang ang kailan mo - no need for phone verification. Kahit i-combine mo sa free Chrome plugins like Merlin, Monica, Harpa AI...overkill na yan. Kung gagamit ka ng stored knowledgebase, you need specific apis for the models needed. If not, just stick to web links and documents. Convert them to markdown or text files para mas madaling basahin ng AI.

Naghanap ako ng public ai sites.

For community service yan so don't expect much and don't abuse. Useful for anyone who needs AI. Kumpleto na ng tools at huggingface models. Open-webui yung interface nya so it's a powerful tool. Ang rate nya ay 20 requests per minute, Context Window = 65,536 tokens, Max Output Tokens: 8,192 tokens, good for normal resarch stuffs - no idea about the max usage. Three models lang ang option. Just use the default Swiss model. Kung may halong Tagalog o Taglish yung research nuo, use the Singapore model: aisingapore/Qwen-SEA-LION-v4-32B-IT dahil trained yan for SEA languages, though pwede rin yung
swiss-ai/apertus-70b-instruct yan dahil 1000 languages yung kaya nya at may deep reasoning. Yung sa US model ( allenai/Olmo-3.1-32B-Instruct) mostly ay for straight english at Math, Coding, and Complex Reasoning. Maraming gumagamit nyan kaya error lagi requests nyo, so as much as possible avoid it. Kaya separated yan by region. Ang pinakamabilis ay yung Swiss model - mga ~3.3 sec bago sumagot ba di naglalayo sa SG model na ~3.8 sec.
Check nyo na lang at gamitin, pero you need to login. For other questions, read the documentation.
