Plot:
• Grave of the Fireflies (1988) is a harrowing Studio Ghibli film about Seita and his little sister, Setsuko, trying to survive in Kobe, Japan, during the final months of World War II. After a firebombing kills their mother and separates them from their naval officer father, the siblings face starvation, homelessness, and societal neglect, with the story told from the perspective of Seita’s ghost.​
