MGA PWEDE MONG GAWIN
The Biostar B450MHP motherboard is known to occasionally suffer from freezing or hanging, often at the BIOS logo screen, during Windows installation, or due to power management issues.
Immediate Troubleshooting Steps
*Clear CMOS: This is the most common fix for boot hangs. Use the jumper (JCMOS1) or remove the CMOS battery for 5–20 minutes to reset the BIOS settings.
*Check RAM: Test RAM sticks individually to check for faulty modules.
*Update BIOS: Download the latest BIOS from the official Biostar website, copy it to a FAT32 USB drive, and use the F12 key during POST to update, which can fix compatibility issues.
*Power Supply (PSU) Check: Verify all cables are securely plugged in (24-pin and 8-pin).
Common Causes and Solutions
*BIOS Freeze/Hang at Logo: If the system hangs at the logo, try disabling "Fast Boot" in BIOS or changing "CSM Support" to enabled.
*Random Freezing in Windows (Idle/Light Use): This can be related to AMD Ryzen power settings. Go into BIOS and change "Power Supply Idle Control" to "Typical" or disable C-state 6.
*USB Freezing During Windows Installation: Try plugging the installation USB into a USB 2.0 port instead of 3.0, as some Biostar boards have issues with 3.0 ports during initial setup.
*Memory Compatibility: Ensure memory modules are not mixed-brand and are fully seated. Try different slots.
If the issue persists, the BIOS may be corrupted, requiring re-flashing or, in rare cases, a new chip. Persistent hangs despite these steps might indicate a faulty motherboard or CPU, necessitating an RMA.
