APP DESCRIPTION

The AR Ruler app leverages Google's ARCore framework to transform an Android device into a comprehensive spatial measurement toolkit. Compatible with Android 8.0 and up, the utility utilizes augmented reality to calculate dimensions by targeting detected planes through the smartphone camera. The software maintains high precision by anchoring measurements to recognized 3D surfaces, though accuracy remains dependent on the ongoing iterative improvements of the underlying ARCore library.
The application includes a diverse suite of measurement tools:
AR Ruler: Measures linear dimensions in metric and imperial units.
Area and Perimeter: Calculates room dimensions and boundaries.
Volume: Estimates the size of three-dimensional objects.
Height and Path: Tracks vertical distance from a surface and total path length.
Plan: Generates 2D floor plan projections for export to PDF.
Distance Meter and Angle: Determines point-to-point distance and corner degrees.
For smaller items, the app includes a traditional on-screen ruler that functions without the camera. The interface is designed for technical utility, bridging the gap between hardware sensors and practical architectural visualization.
