Cold fingers lurking quietly, touches walls unseen,
Haunting and filling the empty space between.
The darkness feels heavy, a shrouding cloud,
Though the silence grows yet seem shattering loud.
There is a glimmer dancing on the floor,
A light from a candle, a distant door.
As the shadows twist, it begins to creep,
In corners where the people sleep.
Filled with silence, the air begins to speak,
With empty words for all who seek.
It knows your secrets, fears, and lies,
And seems to feed on quiet cries.
No morning comes, no light will pry,
The darkness holds you, asking why.
And in that still and heavy space,
You meet the darkness, face to face.
Haunting and filling the empty space between.
The darkness feels heavy, a shrouding cloud,
Though the silence grows yet seem shattering loud.
There is a glimmer dancing on the floor,
A light from a candle, a distant door.
As the shadows twist, it begins to creep,
