Do not answer unknown calls.

I was häçked. My sim was häçked, my bank was also häçked.

So 2 weeks back, I answered a call. Akala ko typical na rider call lang dahil I was expecting parcels that time.

May isang call, unknown number. I answered, no one is talking. Wala at all. Then akala ko mahina signal. He/she called again. This time may slight static and parang may narinig ako na nag-hello sa end nila. Pero choppy. So I stayed longer. Until hindi ko na talaga sya marinig so I ended the call.

After hours, nakatulog na ako, and pag gising ko. I have 18,000 na transaction sa Unionbank ko. So I thought, UB ko ang na-häçk. UB really helped me immediately and froze the account. Investigation is still on going.

Until, recently, I was trying to login to my Facebook account from my desktop and it requires OTP. Hindi sya pumapasok. So akala ko, ah baka matagal magsend lang. I did not push through.

Baka magtaka kayo how I was able to login to my UB? I used my face detect feature.

So, eto na. I was creating a BDO account, hindi rin pumapasok ang OTP

And mas nagworry na ako nung sinasabi ng mga rider, hindi na daw nila ako macontact or nagtetext daw sila pero wala akong narereceive.

That's when I found out, it's not my UB that was häçked.

Yung Sim ko ang na-access nila. Diverted the SMS and Call sa system nila. Kaya nakapag transact sila ng UB and chose the SMS for the OTP instead of face detect.

I reached out to my sim provider, and had my sim replaced. With all the requirements and hassle, grabe talaga.

Imagine, this is just by simply answering an unknown number. So everyone, be careful.

The longer you stay in that call, the higher the chance na maging successful ang paghäçk sa sim mo.

PS:

As per comment, hindi daw sim ko ang possible na na-compromise given na it requires wire tapping.

So whatever it is, it all started with that unknown call. So ingat na lang talaga mga beh.

I don't think kasalanan ng network ko or kasalanan ng bank. Or kasalanan ko.

not sure...pero may ganito

Zero-Click Exploit: This is the most advanced and dangerous method. It involves sending malicious code that exploits a vulnerability in the phone's operating system (iOS or Android) or in the call/messaging apps themselves (like WhatsApp, Apple's FaceTime). The key is that it requires zero interaction from you—you don't have to answer the call, click a link, or download anything. The exploit runs automatically. These exploits are rare, expensive, and typically used by nation-states against high-value targets (journalists, activists, politicians).
