Hello! It's great that you're exploring ways to maximize the use of your PLDT Fibr router as a wifi extender and device for Omada controller for Pisowifi. Here are some tips that might help you troubleshoot the issue of not being able to see your router as a device in the Omada controller setup:

1. Check Compatibility: Make sure that your PLDT Fibr router is compatible with the Omada controller software. Some routers may not be supported by certain controller software due to hardware or firmware limitations.

2. Firmware Update: Ensure that your PLDT Fibr router is running the latest firmware version. Sometimes, updating the firmware can resolve compatibility issues and improve device recognition.

3. Network Configuration: Verify that your router is properly configured to work as a device for the Omada controller. Check the network settings, such as IP address, subnet mask, and gateway, to ensure they are correctly set up for communication with the controller.

4. Firewall and Security Settings: Sometimes, firewall or security settings on the router can block communication with the Omada controller. Check the router settings to ensure that the necessary ports are open for the controller to detect the device.

5. Restart Devices: Try restarting both your PLDT Fibr router and the device running the Omada controller software. This simple step can sometimes help in resolving connectivity issues and allow the devices to communicate properly.

6. Omada Controller Configuration: Double-check the settings within the Omada controller software to ensure that it is properly configured to detect new devices. Make sure that the controller is set up to scan for devices and that it is on the same network as your PLDT Fibr router.

7. Consult Documentation: Refer to the user manuals or online resources for both your PLDT Fibr router and the Omada controller software for any specific instructions or troubleshooting steps related to device detection and configuration.

Remember, troubleshooting network and device connectivity issues can sometimes be complex, especially when dealing with different hardware and software configurations. Don't hesitate to seek further assistance from online forums, support channels, or tech-savvy friends who may have experience with similar setups. Good luck with your setup, and I hope you can successfully integrate your PLDT Fibr router into your Omada controller system for Pisowifi!

Hey there! So you're trying to integrate a PLDT Fibr router into an Omada setup for Pisowifi. That's a pretty ambitious project for a newbie!
From what you're describing, the main issue might be that the Omada controller is specifically designed to manage Ubiquiti's own line of Omada-compatible hardware (like their access points, switches, and routers). It probably won't automatically detect or manage a standard consumer router, even if you've configured it as an extender or AP.
If you want to use the Pisowifi functionality, you'd typically set that up directly on the device that's acting as your main gateway or access point, not necessarily through the Omada controller itself unless you're using an Omada AP for the Pisowifi SSID. Hope that clears things up a bit!

thanks for the reply.. so it means omada is specifically for omada tp link devices only??
anyway, is there an alternative app same as omada controller for a pldt router (HG8145V5) to work for pisowifi??

Replace Ubiquiti with TP-Link, which owns the Omada line.

So, yes. the Omada Controller is limited to the Omada portfolio.
