LOOK: JAPAN OVERTAKES HONG KONG AS CEBU PACIFIC’S TOP INTERNATIONAL DESTINATION
Despite flying a record 1.13 million passengers between the Philippines and Hong Kong in 2024, Cebu Pacific revealed that Japan has now become its most-traveled international destination.
The budget airline is still seeing strong growth in HK routes, especially after opening direct flights from Davao and Iloilo late last year. In Q1 2025 alone, more than 312,000 passengers flew between the Philippines and Hong Kong.
Cebu Pacific currently flies to five Philippine cities from Hong Kong and is targeting double-digit growth this year. In total, the airline flew 24.5 million passengers in 2024, up 18% from the year before.
While Japan may have taken the lead, Hong Kong remains a critical market, thanks to its proximity, shopping appeal, and world-class theme parks. Cebu Pacific plans to keep expanding with affordable fares, fleet upgrades, and more regional connectivity.

Ang mahirap lang talaga is kumuha ng Visa, pero i think now that they said na na overtake na ng Japan ang HK which have visa on arrival for PH as a top destination, parang medyo naging accessible na ang Japan for us? or sadyang yumayaman lang ang mga PH tourist natin now na afford na nila mag Japan Japan, hahaha
