In November 1983, a group of armed robbers raid the Brinks-Met warehouse near London’s Heathrow Airport and s†éál £26 million in gold, diamonds and cash (equivalent to £111 million in today’s money). The heist, the largest in British history, is carried out by Mick McAvoy and Brian Robinson, with the help of undercover policeman Anthony Black. The series explores the aftermath of the heist, including widespread money laundering and its impact on the London property market. Detective Superintendent Brian Boyce (Hugh Bonneville) and his team, including Nicky Jennings (Charlotte Spencer) and Tony Brightwell (Eamon Elliott), track down the thieves. Criminals such as Kenneth Noy (Jack Lowden), John Palmer (Tom Cullen) and Gordon Perry (Sean Harris), distribute the gold on the global market. The series offers a thrilling story of police-criminal rivalry, corruption and ethical dilemmas.
