Nine people with personal problems move to a luxury retreat called Tranquillity, run by Masha Dmitrichenko (Nicole Kidman), a woman with a complicated past. The group includes Frances Welty (Melissa McCarthy), a writer in crisis; Napoleon (Michael Shannon) and Heather Marconi (Asher Cady), who are struggling with family issues; Lars Lee (Luke Evans), a curious journalist; Jessica (Samara Weaving) and Ben Chandler (Melvin Gregg), a strained couple; Delilah (Tiffany Boone); Yao (Manny Jacinto), a resort employee; and Carmel (Regina Hall), a single mother.Masha promises transformation through unconventional methods, including psychotherapy sessions and special diets. But as the story progresses, Masha’s secrets and dangerous methods, including the use of psychedelic drugs, challenge the group. Zoe (Grace Van Patten), the Marconi daughter, and Tatiana (Isabelle Brown) help uncover the lodge’s past. Tensions rise with the arrival of Brian (Murray Bartlett) and Lucy (Isabelle Cornish). The series culminates with the discovery of the truth about Masha and the group’s decision to stay or leave the lodge, delivering a message about self-discovery.
