One year after the horrific events of the first novel find Greg and Zoe pursuing a life together and living in an apartment in Suffolk, ******ia. Leaving the town of Fairmont, West ******ia was a tough, but necessary decision for them. Greg writes book reviews and articles for a magazine based out of New York and telecommutes from home, while Zoe just got hired on as the Head of the Young ãdül† Fiction section of the public library. Jessica and Jason are currently separated but are so on and off that it's a guessing game month to month. The custody arrangements for Joey aren't ideal but it works for the moment. Things have started calming down... or so it seemed. Still plagued with nightmares, Greg meets with a therapist once a week, trying to move forward and leave the horrors behind. Zoe's own past is beginning to stir and make itself known. A slumbering being has now awoken and has set its eyes on Zoe.
