Why many Filipinos remain poor despite a growing economy.webp

Agree but disagree...

Politicians can pray and at the same time wash their hands. They have OCDs. Well, they are religiously washing their hands.

because thats not our economy.

That is the economy.
It is the business of the land.
It is how PH economy works.
It is part and parcel of life and economy in the PH.
Unless you re-wire the mindset and the systemic culture of corruption in the PH.
We only see the officials in the PH government, but do we see it in ourselves, as an individual, a citizen of the PH.

This will be a mouthful of thoughts. Medyo kalat ang aking thoughts.

00:01:41 - Philippines has a lot of money but the masses don't feel it.
00:01:59 - Gross Domestic Product(GDP) vs Gross National Income(GNI)
  • Philippine GDP vs other countries
  • Philippine GNI vs other countries

00:12:32 - Infrastructure/Logistics Problem
00:13:59 - Filipino mindset of buying local vs import
00:14:18 - Law of Comparative Advantage
00:14:46 - Agriculture/Agrarian Reform/Government-Businesses-Farmers Collaboration (Recognizing the problem, solution, actions)

00:23:46 - Recognizing the Foundations and Critical Industries for a Growing Philippine Economy (Philippine Bath Tub)

00:35:09 - Legislating a new Philippine zip code
00:37:34 - E-commerce and Agriculture (Barangay and Taobao Villages)
00:43:15 - Philippine Economy(Is it on the right track?)
00:49:14 - Philippines have a problem of too much excess cash but not utilized in productive purposes

You are generalizing Chinese.

Filipinos have a tendency to look outside or tend to look up to foreigners because they see themselves small or belittle themselves about what they can do.

The nature of the game is different.
How about investment sa sarili, skills-wise?

Ngunit ang imagination o ideas will stay a thought unless acted on.
Turning ideas into action requires a structured approach.

They say putting a fresh tomato into a basket with rotten ones will cause it to rot very quickly.

For context:
This is a discussion of not just SEAblings vs South Korea in terms of music or pop but also the difference in strengths, and advantages in economy, culture, people and history of each Southeast Asian countries (SEA) and as a region. Also, how Southeast Asian countries (SEA) endure/ride the wave of economic crisis that came. Where do the Southeast Asian countries (SEA) stand now and in the future?

What is interesting in this vlog is the "Peking Order" or "Old Hierarchy System" that played throughout the history of East Asian Countries vs "Mandala System" in the pre-colonial Southeast Asian countries.

During the May 20 Senate hearing, Sen. Pia Cayetano got emotional as she pushed back against Sen. Risa Hontiveros' remark that it was as if nothing had happened after the May 13 Senate shooting. Hontiveros later clarified that she meant that she was referring to the Senate's institutional posture.

I was talking with my friend yesterday from HongKong. He said, problem sa Philippines is the government here is supposed to help the people to build business, instead yung government ni-ninigosyo yung tao. He said sa HK yung government nila pag meron kang business is susupport ka all thru out, the more na mag eemploy ka ng tao from their country mas bibigyan ka ng government. Ang payo na lang nya if you have enough money, get out of the Philippines.

I have a business here, but nauubos ako sa tax, and pati mga kung ano2ng hinihingi ng government, like renewal ng permits, mga tax every month, quarter at annual.
