A photo showing Duterte and Marcos alongside controversial film director Darryl Yap went viral over the weekend, sparking buzz about a budding alliance between the two high-profile women. The image, shared by social media personality Tio Moreno on Facebook, is seen by many as a subtle show of support from the vice president. Marcos has seen her ranking slip in the latest Pulse Asia survey, conducted in March 2025. From a solid 4th–12th place standing in February, she has now dropped to the 13th–18th bracket—just outside the Senate’s Magic 12. The dip comes amid the arrest of former president Rodrigo Duterte, whose enduring popularity has swayed voter sentiment. In response, Marcos has distanced herself from the Alyansa Para sa Pagbabago, the administration ticket led by her brother, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
