ISP - ASIANVISION

kung hindi ka binibigyan ng IPv6 ng provider mo, di uubra ito. i think Globe supports it with their fibre connections, but i don't know how it is deployed. hindi rin ito makapagpapabilis ng connection mo, although there will be improvements elsewhere that may give you the sense of a speed boost..

ano bang meron sa IPv6? well, wala nang NAT (network address translation), at lahat ng devices mo ay may sariling public IPv6. so wala na 'yung:
  • if you have a public ip from your provider: [192.168.x.x] - [Public IP Address] - [the rest of the internet]
  • if you're on CGNAT: [192.168.x.x] - [CGNAT IP Address] - [Public IP Address] - [the rest of the internet]
basically your provider assigns you a subnet, rather than a single ip address. i think the original design for IPv6 was to give residential users a /64 (18,446,744,073,709,551,616 ip addresses). this means any user can have that many devices each with their own public ip address. think a user who then starts a business, that grows into a massive enterprise. business users get an even bigger /48 (1,208,925,819,614,629,174,706,176 addresses).

in practice, providers here (where i am) seem to be allocating /56 (4,722,366,482,869,645,213,696 addresses).

ok sana if the world decides to well and truly adopt IPv6, but there's some cost involved in making sure every device supports IPv6. at meron pang isang challenge... yung mga provider na marami pang IPv4 (that they ρáíd good money for) are not too keen on deploying IPv6.

in case na interesado kang malaman kung sino ang me IPv6 sa Pilipinas, check this out - You do not have permission to view the full content of this post. Log in or register now..
