"The Wrong Number"
Jake was driving home when his phone buzzed. An unknown number.
Unknown: You shouldn’t have left the door unlocked.
His stomach tightened. He glanced at his house in the distance. The front door was slightly open.
He pulled into the driveway, hands shaking.
Me: Who is this?
Unknown: I’m already inside.
Jake’s heart pounded. He stepped out of the car slowly.
Then his phone buzzed again.
Unknown: You’re looking at the wrong house.
His blood ran cold.
Because his door was still locked.
But the house across the street had a shadow standing in the window.
Watching him.
