"The Whispering Door"

Liam rented the old apartment for cheap, ignoring the warnings from the landlord. "Don’t open the door at the end of the hall," he had said.

At first, it was easy. The door was old, its paint peeling, but it remained locked. Then the whispers started.

At night, soft voices called from the other side. Sometimes they were pleading, sometimes laughing.

"Let us out."

Liam ignored it, stuffing pillows over his ears. But one night, the door was unlocked. Just a crack.

Curiosity got the better of him. He placed a trembling hand on the knob and pushed it open.

The whispers stopped.

The room was empty. Just dust and darkness.

Then he heard his own voice, right behind him.

"Finally, you let us in."

The door slammed shut.

And Liam was never seen again.
