Divisoria Market, once a lively supermarket at the heart of Manila in the 1930s, was a vibrant nexus of commerce and community. It buzzed with activity as local farmers proudly displayed their fresh produce, infusing the city with the rich and diverse flavors of the countryside.
Over the decades, however, the landscape of Divisoria has undergone a remarkable transformation.
Today, it has evolved into a sprawling mall, where the stalls that once overflowed with local harvests are now filled with an eclectic array of products sourced primarily from neighboring Asian countries, particularly China.
The atmosphere remains dynamic, but the intimate connection to local agriculture has faded, replaced by a global marketplace that reflects a different era.
