❓ Help Pldt low speed test

Hello guys ano kaya solution nung modem/internet namin. Sana may makatulong. Thanks

Hello! It seems like you are experiencing fluctuations in your internet speed when running speed tests on your modem. Here are some possible solutions you can try to improve the consistency of your internet connection:

1. Check for Interference: Make sure that there are no physical obstructions or electronic devices near your modem/router that could be causing interference with your Wi-Fi signal.

2. Restart Your Modem/Router: Try restarting your modem and router by unplugging them from the power source, waiting for about 30 seconds, and then plugging them back in. This can sometimes help resolve temporary connectivity issues.

3. Update Firmware: Check if there are any available firmware updates for your modem/router and ensure they are up to date. Updating the firmware can sometimes improve performance and stability.

4. Change Wi-Fi Channel: If you are using Wi-Fi, try changing the Wi-Fi channel on your router settings to see if it reduces interference and improves speed consistency.

5. Run a Wired Connection Test: To determine if the issue is related to Wi-Fi interference, try connecting your device directly to the modem/router using an Ethernet cable and run a speed test. If the speed is more consistent, the problem might be with your Wi-Fi connection.

6. Contact Your Internet Service Provider (ISP): If the issue persists after trying these solutions, contact your ISP again and provide them with detailed information about the problem. They may be able to troubleshoot the issue further or send a technician to investigate.

I hope these suggestions help improve the stability of your internet connection. Let me know if you have any other questions or need further assistance!

need a bit more info para makatulong kami. anong setup mo? fibre o 4G/5G wireless? are you running speedtest from a device connected to your router via ethernet cable (pc) or your wifi (phone, tablet, laptop)?

marami kasing possible bottleneck.

Pldt home fibr po gamit ko. Tested na with lan and wireless pero same result padin

once you've ruled out your own network as the cause of your grief, it could be your provider's network. fibre should not be so far off from the service you're paying for, pero depende kasi sa dami ng client in a locality, at sa provisions ng provider sa bawat client. dito pumapasok 'yung congestion at kung anong ginagawa ng provide to manage this.

a couple of things you can try:
  • run speedtest from the speedtest app (rather than a browser, dahil maraming nakakaapekto sa behaviour ng browser)
  • check with your neighbours na merong similar plan from the same provider. kung pareho ang resulta sa kanila, nasa provider ang problema, at solusyon d'yan.
to be honest, if you're getting a consistent 100 Mbps, typical usage and application should be perfectly fine. ano ba ang gusto mong gawin na nalilimitahan ng current service mo?

of course, kung ok naman ang pinag-gagamitan mo ng internet sa 100 Mbps... sayang 'yung bayad mo ng 300 Mpbs service.

a 50d/10u Mbps fibre service should be much more reliable than any 4G/5G fixed wireless service kung walang issue (congestion, etc.) ang network ng provider.

Thanks for the info

I'm getting the same issue right now, napalitan na router ko pero ganun pa din from 1gbps to 100mbps lang nakukuha. Possible talaga na line problem siya need i fixed sa labas not inside. Nakailang reconfigure yung tech dun sa luma and bago, ganun pa rin.

Ohh ganun, so possible pala na line na yung issue namin pag ganun.

Same din samin na nakaraming configur na pero same padin

Kagandahan naman samin bumabalik din sa dating speed na 300mbs after a while baba ulit sa 100 mbs

if you're getting 100 Mbps from a 1000 Mbps service, sobrang layo nito. meron ka rin dapat i-check to be sure. maaring nagawa mo na ito:
  • may gigabit ports ba ang mga device mo? router at laptop dapat parehong gigabit
  • okay ba ang cable mo? use CAT5E, preferably CAT6 for gigabit LAN

yung ganitong behaviour ang isang indication ng congestion. pag konti ang gumagamit, you get your plan's full bandwidth. pag maraming naghahati bumabagal.
