LEAKED PNP MEMO ALLEGEDLY REVEALS PLAN TO 'OVERSHADOW' EDSA BUS LANE CONTROVERSY
A memorandum from the Philippine National Police (PNP), obtained by SunStar Davao and Superbalita from a reliable source, allegedly outlines a strategy to manage public perception of an alleged EDSA bus lane violation involving a police convoy on February 25.
Allegedly issued by the Directorate for Police Community Relations on February 26, the memo instructs all PNP units to stay silent, leaving the PNP Public Information Office (PIO) as the sole spokesperson. It also reportedly directs the Police Community Affairs and Development Group (PCADG) to "mobilize resources to overshadow the issue" and highlight positive police initiatives.
The document allegedly confirms that the convoy accepted a traffic violation ticket and orders units to report mitigation efforts by March 5.
