📊 Poll American colony like heaven or Independent Philippines like hell?

What do you all think? In my opinion, we are better off (in terms of living standards) if we became an American colony. However, we do not enjoy independence, freedom, self rule and governance, etc. We might have even lost our sense of culture, self beliefs, our own, etc. But it has been too long already. Our dear country has undeniably became literal "hell" long time ago. As the joke says, Quezon had his wish granted.

Note: In reference to Manuel L. Quezon's famous line. Words in parenthesis may or may have not been included. Some sources had that inclusion. Pic not taken when he said that line. It's actually him delivering his speech in Iloilo on August 25 when it became a city with its inauguration.

Syempre hindi tayo US colony o "territory" kagaya ng Guam o Puerto Rico. Pero kabaliwan ding isipin na independent talaga ang Pilipinas.

Nandun tayo sa American mental colony purgatory o baka nasa pang-ilang Circles of Hell ni Dante. Hindi tayo literal na sakop ng Amerika pero yung kamalayan ng napakaraming Pilipino feeling nila kano sila at ang pangarap nila makakuha ng US citizenship. Hanggang sa tipong makikipag-giyera para sa interes ng US at ang pag-asa na lang nila para umangat ang buhay eh makapangasawa ng 'afam'.

Kaya walang respeto mga kapwa nating Asyano sa atin kasi mismong tayo na lang yata hindi nakakapansin na utak alipin pa rin talaga tayo hanggang ngayon.

I don't think "impyerno" nman ang mga colonies nila ngayon. Dati siguro, pero present day, parang hindi naman. Like Guam or Puerto Rico. They are far better off compared to us in terms of standard of living. Pero syempre may disadvanage pa din ang pagiging colony.
