MANILA — Devotees flocked to the Minor Basilica and National Shrine of Jesus the Nazarene, commonly known as Quiapo Church in Manila, for the blessing of replicas of the Nazarene image and its banners on Thursday.
Some devotees arrived early, walking barefoot along the streets and wearing maroon and yellow — the traditional colors associated with the Nazarene.
They lined up along Carriedo and Carlos Palanca Streets for the blessing scheduled at 1 p.m.
Many devotees came from various provinces, accompanied by friends and relatives who share the same faith.
