🛰️ Starlink I need your insights on Starlink

Good day, PHC,

We’ve previously experienced prolonged internet outages with Converge, lasting 8 to 9 days, which has been particularly challenging as a remote worker. Because of this, I’m seriously considering giving Starlink a try.

Before making the switch, I would greatly appreciate your insights. What are the pros and cons of Starlink as a provider? Are there any critical factors I should consider before making the investment?

Your advice would mean a lot, as I want to ensure this decision is worth it and avoid wasting more money.

Looking forward to your recommendations.

Thank you in advance!

If you can afford Starlink as an alternative, that's great! I also work remotely, and my primary ISP is PLDT, with Gfiber Prepaid as my backup. The advantage of Gfiber is its reliability during outages of my main ISP. They now offer 100 Mbps, and since it's a prepaid service, there's no monthly commitment – you can load it only when needed. During outages, I can load ₱200 for one week of unlimited 50 Mbps connection, or ₱400 for 100 Mbps. It's a flexible solution that works well when my main ISP is down.

Just an additional option that's all 😊

starlink user myself. Pros: goods xa pang streaming, online gaming and such, downloading goods din pero you need to have a vpn just for your own security since bawal sa kanya ang torrent downloading and such makakareceive ka ng message from them even email na may naviolate ka sa rules and regulation nila.. Cons: if you are working from home and your job is more reliant sa upload speed, di xa recommended since the upload speed is not as equal sa download speed nya.. lalo pag nasa meeting ka madalas magdadrop ung meeting mo. pag obstructed ang view ni starlink makakaranas ka ng intermittent internet connection, pag maulap o maulan di ko naman naranasang mawalan ng internet connection, bumababa ung speed yes pero not to the point na mawawalan ka ng connection. currently madami silang location na nasa waitlist, so the only option na available currently is Roaming which currently cost P4,100.00. wala silang customer service na makakausap mo thru phone call pero meron silang chat support matagal ung response time. un lang naman ung experience ko mostly sa starlink. Hope it helps
