Judges 19:22-30 CONTEXT
A Levite and his concubine are traveling and stop for the night in the town of Gibeah, where they are taken in by an old man. But, the men of the city surround the house and demand that the Levite be brought out so they can abuse him. To protect himself, the Levite offers his concubine instead, and she is brutally assaulted throughout the night.

The next day, the Levite finds her dead at the doorstep. In his grief and anger, he cuts her body into twelve pieces and sends them to the twelve tribes of Israel as a call to action against the atrocity committed in Gibeah. This event leads to civil conflict in Israel, showing the society's moral decline and the chaos of the time.
