Hmm for me lang ha teaching mother tongue is kind of in the mix of being important and being not important.
The reasons is because the native language or mother tongue is already used when doing conversations at home or outside so teaching it loses its meaning its just a matter of application of the language/dialect. But for Filipino and english establishing early knowledge of this languages, the child could adapt faster to the curriculum, because ang mga books and teaching proper nung mga teachers is tagalog or english.

Now there is also a downside example hindi pala labas yung bata or di masyadong nag sasalita the native language would be less used creating a barrier that'll affects a childs communication to others.

this is not about the mother tongue subject bossing, this will just ban teachers from teaching in mother tongue, so this promotes US influence of teaching subjects in English

it means you know nothing about education especially on the impact of language to learning, you don't even pay attention to other countries using their mother tongue to teach
