PHThe Office of the Ombudsman has dismissed Cebu City Mayor Mike Rama and Mandaue City Mayor Jonas Cortes from government service in two separate decisions that were made public on Thursday, October 3. Despite this, Rama still filed his certificate of candidacy (COC) for reelection as mayor on Thursday morning, while Cortes filed his certificate of candidacy also for reelection as mayor on Friday morning, October 4.
