Durov’s announcement marked a considerable policy shift: He said Telegram will now share the IP addresses and phone numbers of users who violate the platform’s rules with authorities “in response to valid legal requests.”
I knew this day would come. It's a good thing I completely ditched Telegram the moment they implemented SIM registration. Now I have nothing to worry about, as my identity is clean. I'm sure when the government improves SIM registration, the same thing will happen. If they aren't monitoring your private conversations, how can they know the users are breaking any rules? They must be invading our privacy by snooping through chats. So, be aware of what you guys are doing. Telegram is no longer the private messaging app it once was.
