This is the budget of MMDA found in the Official Gazette, page 705 under Allocations to Local Government Units, GAA2024.
Take note under Regular programs entitled, Metropolitan Manila Flood Control Program, the amount of Php455.8M. Php395.5M of that is for operation and maintenance of various flood control structures, facilities, equipment and waterways.
The Locally Funded Projects amount to Php3B and there are 101 areas identified and listed under said amount (from pp. 708 to 712).
In GAA2023, Flood Control was at Php351.7M, of which Php287M is for operation and maintenance of various flood control structures, facilities, equipment and waterways. Locally funded projects stood at Php1.8B. There were 109 areas identified and listed (pp. 711-717}.
For two years, MMDA got a total of Php787.6B for flood control program. Locally funded projects is at a staggering Php4.8B. This does not take into account the allocation under DPWH for FY2023 and 2024 at Php544B.
If you add that up, on flood control alone, thats a hold your breath…Php1.332 Trillion for 2 years, under the Marcos administration.
We have not taken into consideration the amount appropriated via ordinances of the 17 LGUs in NCR as well as foreign funded projects!
