❓ Help Cyberattack? Help me.

Hello. Good day, PHCorner.

I think I might have been cyberattacked today. I received a lot of password requests for my various accounts on different sites. There are a lot of unwanted posts on my Instagram and it seems like someone accessed my account to follow and like posts. Even my LinkedIn account was in hibernated mode but somehow got reopened. Additionally, my Steam account was compromised, and my valuable items were sold in the marketplace for almost nothing. I had already activated 2-factor authentication before deactivating my accounts. However, is there anything I can do to prevent this from happening again in the future? I am quite cautious about what I click, and thankfully, my bank accounts were not affected. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hello,

I'm sorry to hear about the cyberattacks you experienced. It sounds like you've taken some good steps to secure your accounts by activating 2-factor authentication. Here are some additional measures you can take to further protect yourself from future cyberattacks:

1. Change Passwords: Make sure to change the passwords for all your accounts that were compromised. Use strong, unique passwords for each account. Consider using a password manager to help you generate and store complex passwords securely.

2. Check for Malware: Run a full antivirus scan on your devices to check for any malware that could be compromising your accounts. Malware can s†éál your login credentials and personal information.

3. Update Security Settings: Review the security settings of your online accounts. Enable additional security features such as notifications for login attempts, account activity alerts, and trusted device lists.

4. Monitor Your Accounts: Regularly monitor your accounts for any suspicious activity. Check the login history and review any changes made to your account settings.

5. Beware of Phishing: Be cautious of phishing emails and messages that may trick you into revealing your login credentials. Avoid clicking on links or downloading attachments from unknown sources.

6. Secure Your Devices: Keep your devices and software up to date with the latest security patches. Enable firewalls and use a reputable antivirus program to protect against malware.

7. Secure Your Network: Secure your home network by changing the default router password, enabling encryption (WPA2 or WPA3), and disabling remote management.

8. Educate Yourself: Stay informed about common cyber threats and best practices for online security. Be wary of social engineering tactics used by cybercriminals to trick users into revealing sensitive information.

By following these tips and practicing good cybersecurity hygiene, you can reduce the risk of falling victim to cyberattacks in the future. If you have any specific questions or need further assistance, feel free to ask. Stay safe online!

hmm check for malware. usually may mga na install ka na software either a infologger/infostealer, rat. or maybe na häçk through phishing.
databreaches may also be a cause or even a cookie logger.

usually end user problems kaya double the protection turn on 2fa use secure password at wag mag login sa mga di ka siguradong mga website or randomize your password.

think before you click lang boss
Aware naman ako what to click pero sobrang caught off-guard ako sa nangyari.

Thank you, Sir. Nag-backtrack ako, recent ko lang naman na ininstall na software is 'yung mobalytics (live stats for league of legends) before this happened. Though, finormat ko na lang clean 'yung pc ko just to ensure na walang maiiwan, enough naman na siguro 'yon to wipe malwares kung mayroon man no?
