# How to use DRM encrypted streams

  • Download You do not have permission to view the full content of this post. Log in or register now., mp4decrypt (You do not have permission to view the full content of this post. Log in or register now.), Microsoft Virtual C++ Redistributable (You do not have permission to view the full content of this post. Log in or register now.) and mkvmerge (You do not have permission to view the full content of this post. Log in or register now.).
  • Once you download all of these programs, place N_m3u8DL-RE, mp4decrypt and mkvmerge in the same directory.
  • Open a command prompt window and type cd [directory where the file is located, i.e. C:/user/Downloads/N_m3u8DL-RE.exe].
  • Run this command:
N_m3u8DL-RE [link] --auto-select --del-after-done --key [key] --live-keep-segments False --live-real-time-merge --live-record-limit HH:MM:SS --mux-after-done format=mkv:muxer=mkvmerge --save-name [filename]
Make sure you swap out [link] and [key] with the link and key for the stream you are trying to decrypt, and replace HH:MM:SS with the length of time you want to record for (i.e. 00:10:00 for 10 minutes).

## Optional steps
  • Download ffmpeg (You do not have permission to view the full content of this post. Log in or register now.) and add it to the same directory as your other programs
  • Add --start-task-at <yyyyMMddHHmmss> to the command if you want your recording to start at a specific time. yyyy is the year, MM is the month (i.e. 06 for June), dd is the day (i.e. 21 for June 21st), and HHmmss is the time you want to start the recording (i.e. 000000 for midnight).
